The Stratfield Explorer Post #330 is a career development program, aimed at the Fire Rescue service.

Sponsored by the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Department, the Post is comprised of young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21, who have completed the 8th grade, who assist the Fire Department in community service.

The Fire Explorer program allows students to gain a better understanding of the Fire Rescue Service and its career opportunities and provides valuable support to the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Explorers complete a training program to learn about the fire service and to prepare themselves for a career in the Fire Rescue Service.

Weekly meetings attended by the Explorers provide them with instruction in areas such as First Aid, CPR, Firefighting Tactics, Vehicle Extrication, and Fire Safety.

Explorer Post members work and train alongside the members of the Stratfield Volunteer Fire Department.
